Couldn’t find any good website on her, here at the library we have two books that the kids are using for there information

“Back Home” By Susan J Wallace
Island Echoes” By Susan J Wallace

Here is one of her poems

To Teacher, with Love

You’re a bud we saw unfolding,
Glimpsed a mine of gems inside,
Watched the petals gently curling,
To reveal its store with pride.

Now the world can see the riches
That you give to all you touch,
And we know that you have touched us,
And we love you very much.

Homework Help

KIDS LIBRARY HOMEWORK HELP CENTER

The purpose of this blog is to present information on home work, course work The Bahamas National Exams B.J.C. and B.G.C.S.E. and research assignments for kids of all age’s right here at the Haynes library. This blog is going to give them the parents and students much easier access to correct information on the web.

Dictionary websites

For parents and students are you tired of searching through thick never ending dictionaries, staring down at words that are so small they hurt your eyes well?
Here are two great dictionary websites for young adults which are quite simple and easy to use!

www.merriam-webster.com/

dictionary.cambridge.org/

Here is a cool dictionary for younger kids. This site is, fun and educational for the kids. On this site they can build their own dictionary and play a few games

www.wordcentral.com/

Here are a few homework help websites for all ages

Cyber sleuth-kids http://cybersleuth-kids.com/
Homeworkspot.com http://www.homeworkspot.com/
kidspace@internet public library http://www.ipl.org/div/kidspace/

Cyber sleuth-kids
http://cybersleuth-kids.com/
this site is really eye catching to as an adult so I can image a child. This site has so many topics to choose from its amazing. The topics are right there just at the point of a mouse. This site has alone 65,00 clipart images, illustrations, photographs, video and sounds. This site even as down to practice math work sheet’s cross puzzles this site is a very easy to use for its attend audience of kids of all ages. It gave me a great coverage of the subject I choose which was science and the topic snake s it came up with 55 search topics. I must say as a parent now this site is appropriate for kids.

Homeworkspot.com
http://www.homeworkspot.com/

This site homework spot is not as eye catching as cyber sleuth kids. This site has very great themes such as must see sites, to do, field trips, tips, on exhibit, winners, related sports, previous articles and a question center, ex.. You asked for it, do you know. Don’t get me wrong this site has so many topics it’s unbelievable. That right there give this site a plus with me it might not be as colorful as the other one but it sure is very informative and that what I like unlike the other site this site does not have a search bow strange right? But it has different topics I am very sure you can find exactly what you are looking for. This site has elementary topics, middle school, and high school topics. This is the first time I have ever saw subjects sections out in different levels like that. Usually as a librarian at our public library when you search a certain topic for an elementary student sometimes you get topics that are difficult for that age group. That’s why these different levels in subjects are great; it makes it easier especially for a librarian like my self.

Kidspace@the internet
http://www.ipl.org/div/kidspace/

This site is also very interesting. It is attractive for it catches the attention of any child with its beautiful color scheme. This site has different themes which you can access such as reference, which include dictionaries encyclopedia a homework help and many more. It has a reading zone a sports and a recreation section with topics such as football dance and more. Kid space serves you the audience with art & music, helth and nutrition and even a topic that is so big right now and which covers a lot “our world”. Just like the other sites which I have talked about so far it has special features such as a science fair, learning html, poison prevention even our favorite here at the Haynes library story time or story hour. This site had very good coverage to me as a librarian I must say this site is acceptable for kids.

The heading of the 2008/2009 B.J.C. coursework at the many public and private high schools in the Bahamas for the grade nine level.

AT CENTRAL ELEUTHERA HIGH SCHOOL
PALMETTO POINT

Rules by Cynthia Lord

In conclusion; the word help states in an online dictionary “to save, rescue, or to make easier. As a junior librarian at the Haynes library that is one of my goals I am looking forward to accomplishing.
